Fencing: Landscape Fight, 2019-2021

Three-channel HD video, installation, color & sound, 18'50"

Two fencers use “selfie-swords” for a demonstration fight assisted by a referee presenter. The smartphone cameras at the top of the selfie sticks transmit in real time the raw footage of the fight between the fencer and his opponent. Among the amplified noises of rubbing and collisions of the selfie sticks, the fencers gradually merge the jargon of fencing with that of photography...
